We traveled from Deale Md to Catawba Island to get Tim and Effie's car. We then traveled to Brockport NY to meet Jennie, Tim, Effie and Pam as they had brought Jennie's boat from Catawba Island Ohio to Buffalo NY. They had to take the mast down close to Buffalo.

This pic looks like they are in a hurry to go home, I think they really enjoyed themselves.
Brockport has one of many to be encountered lift bridges. Even up the most we could be is 15 feet.
Along the way there is always something to see.
These are gates that they close during the winter we were told when they drain the canal.
Kind of scary,, hope they do not drop.

Second motorboat was much better. Soon after this pic Doug is the captain and the canal narrowed down with cement walls on both sides. I noticed that this motorboat was bouncing down good size waves. Of course we followed and for about a mile we had a very interesting ride. The next morning we spent a lot of time tying down the mast so if we had the same situation in the future.
These are rental boat just to cruise the Erie Canal.
Pittsford was a nice little town. It cost 9 dollars for dockage with electric.

We walked for about 3 miles and saw a lot of the little town, The Richardson's Tavern is still in business and was set up for a party. Wish we had the ice cream:(

OK we saved our teeth by not having the ice cream. This Dentist has an interesting way to show off his work.
