At Waterford Fred was out all night and we are not sure what was doing.
We are starting the Hudson River, a barge at the opening.
the Tugboats used are very interesting.
The one and only lock on the Hudson that we had to go down was the Federal Lock. We are experts at this point.
Albany was the first town we came to of any size.
There was a farmers market next to the river. They are using their fiberglass trailer. Tweety may have more uses in his future.
Cruise boat at Albany.
Look closely at the middle of the page, a bald eagle. We saw many during our trip down the Hudson River.
Albany, view from downtown.
This building reminded us of Notre Dame in Paris.
Another picture.
Albany's historic area.
Yea, first sailboat with mast up since leaving the Erie Canal.
Thought you might like the name on this tug.
One of many ships that we past. Look at the orange life raft. Sure would be a wild ride.
Another ship is coming.
He is now closer. At first this bothers us, but after a while we got use to it.
Another ship, pretty cool.
Nice pic from closer.
Another ship with the life raft on the back. Whee what a ride.
Abandon chimney along the edge of the Hudson River.
This is another chimney, not sure how these were used.
Many nice homes as we make our way.
Nice little light house.
A sailboat and a tour boat taking in the good weather.
A closer look at the tour boat. There was a lot of people on it.
Nice to see a sailboat again sailing.
There are many lighthouses on the Hudson.
Another tug moving freight.
Made it to the Catskills and the mast will go up tomorrow.
First we need to install the radar.
In order to do that the mast was pulled and placed on stands.
Jennie is lifting it by herself.
Here it goes up.
This guy is strong. actually he is just balancing the mast. The Crane has the load.
Now down on the stands so that the radar can be installed.
This is one of the drivers of the crane.
Here is another.
Fred got busy and installed the radar.
Here Fred and Becky are cutting up lettuce for a nice salad. Fred did not like the little knife.
So Fred got a bigger knife. Not sure we an trust him.
The mast is on its way up.
It is amazing how these guys can handle the mast.
he is just guiding the mast, no real weight.
Up and up it goes.
They rotate it so the line is pulled behind the radar.
The mast will now be lowered onto the boat.
Pretty nice job.
There is the new radar way up there.
Tuesday we started south again with the mast up and sails on.
The mountains are in the background and storms are everywhere.
Cute place for sale.
Nice home with a round glass room.
Another light house
You can stop by this one for a visit.
Ships do not make large wakes.
Looking back at the same lighthouse.
Tugs pushing barges were worse than ships. They create a lot of current.
Another lighthouse.
Tour boat, not so full, but it is a week day.
This lighthouse had a handicap walkway.
Another view.
Roosevelt Bridge and some rain. It kept us cool.
Tour boat that was a paddle wheel boat. We stayed at Newburg, NY
Fred has been taking it easy today, after his all night goings on.
We had trouble with him going where he should not go. Here is standing on the stove. Get off of there Fred.
Then he got in the sink. He said he was just trying to fill his watering can.
The moon is coming up over the hill.
When naming a boat the owner has to keep in mind that every time
you talk to a marina or a bridge you have to use the name of your boat. Ok this one is not too bad.
This one is actually good.
How would you like to tell this one to the marina that you are coming into.
