Port of Newark had a lot of restaurants on the water.
We usually traveled at 7mph with about 10 feet of water.
Scenery was very nice with very few boats.

These old barges were just sunk in the coves. I wonder if they could use them again?

This lock has a water falls adjacent.
Jennie is ready go down about 16 feet.
Lyons is the place we stayed for the night. They have very informative signs that helps you get a feel for the area.

If you would bike or come down on a kayak you can pitch your tent by the fire station and use the restroom. You would not believe how nice everyone is and the pride that they have in their community
You can take a virtual tour. This may be a town of under 5000 people, but they are embracing technology.

From where we docked with free electric and dockage you can see the waterfalls at the lock.
The wall was high, but we did ok getting on and off.
They have a Gazebo in the middle of town in front of the court house. Some of the pics are murals, but this is not and it actually looks like a mural.

This little girl reminded me of the little girl in the movie "Polar Express".
The drug store had a mural of a time since passed.
Garth Brooks even had a good quote in one of the shops.
The theater was fantastic, I thought I had stepped back in time.

This is the court house, really a pretty building with a beautiful night sky.

The welcome committee of Bob S volunteers to meet people as they come to the dock and he has a wealth of information.

Remember the old Gulf gas stations that looked like this. I think that is what this was at one time.
