Mary and Ron Visit July 18 to July 21 2016

Our friends Mary and Ron arrived in the morning and we packed them back in the car and went to Baltimore to see the Aquarium and the city.
There were dragons in the inner harbor.
 Monkeys in the trees
And people with weird 3D glasses.

Dolphins that wanted to say hi. It was a good day.

Day two we traveled to Annapolis and visited the Naval Academy. The Chapel is behind Mary and Ron.
We enjoyed the buildings, especially the air conditioning.
Old man trying to stay cool.
The students were going out to race, looked like fun.
Historical Inn with a glass floor showing the remains of a heater that was used for a greenhouse that contained tropical plans.
Becky is not sure about that glass floor.
Mary and Ron at the entrance of the inn.
Next door to the Inn was this sign attached to the home.
One interesting crab at the Hepburn home.
On the way back to the car we saw this home that was very interesting.
Day three we traveled to Washington DC. If you ever go get there early and get tickets to the Mint and the George Washington Monument. We got there at 10am and was able to get 3pm tickets.
This picture is from the World War II Memorial toward the Lincoln Memorial.
We walked about an hour to go to Georgetown, on the way we walked the towpath of the start of the C and O canal. (Chesapeake and Ohio) The canal was never completed. It was a long warm walk.
This is the name of the restaurant where we had lunch.
Very nice, will come again.

Back to Monuments, walking up to see President Lincoln.
The reflecting pool really does reflect.
 President Lincoln is very impressive.
He is looking out toward the Washington Monument and to the left the Vietnam Memorial Wall.
We were now ready to head to our 3pm Washington Memorial ride to the top. You can see the two different colors of rock. They came from different quarries.
It is a long way up there. Looks like it is touching the clouds.
From the top the view is fantastic. This is looking toward the World War II memorial and the Lincoln Memorial.
This is the view toward the Jefferson Memorial.
The White house , President Obama is waving if you look close.
The Capital building, it was a very clear day.

Here is the story about the color change over time. It was a wonderful day and a lot of walking.
