Annapolis first time of the season

We experienced a storm on Tuesday which resulted in a grand finale show of a double rainbow.
Note the lighter sky beneath the double rainbow..
 Awesome double rainbow.
We were not able to get the entire rainbows into one shot but you get the picture.
It must have lasted 30 minutes or more.
We are now in Annapolis on Wednesday night.  Our favorite night since it is race night.  Note a committee boat carrying out race bouys.
The mooring field becomes part of the course as the individual classes of boats go out to race.
The Chart House Restaurant in the background has seen many a race night.
Dinner on board our boat tonight is spinach and grilled salmon salad.
Just one of the smaller class of boats racing tonight.
A boat this size may carry a crew of 10-12.
Thursday morning we dingyed in to explore Annapolis city streets again.  Something we never seem to grow tired of.
This pic shows a beautiful arbor in the residential section of town.
Doug stepping out into the steet leading to the capitol building.
 The governors house.
 Hydrangeas surrounding the Governors House.
One of the stops we plan to visit with Amy and Tony in July.
Maryland is a strong Methodist area but we did not know about this bit of history.
Guess this shows how Annapolis feels about Trump.  (Donald Trump's head on a silver platter)
View from uptown to the harbor.
View from our mooring ball.  The tall steeple (encased with scaffolding) in the background is being repaired.

Hunter Rendezvous at Solomons Island.

Nice boat house across the creek from Spring Cover Marina.
Us and about 40 other boats stayed at Spring Cove Marina.
 Old man and the sign.
Calvert marine Museum is very nice, we had some of our events there.
 Picture perfect house
You can rent a boat. Thought Jason would like to see what they charge here.
 Pretty flowers.
 One of the residents
Drum Point Lighhouse, part of the museum

 Flare and extinguisher demo.
Oh no she has a flair.
Interesting to see how little the flares we all carry do.
Do Not try this at home. At least not in your living room.
We all got a chance to fire one.
Inflatable demo, Learned that you should not make the jacket tight.
Old man putting out a fire. Did it so good you could not even see it.
Becky sneaking up on the fire
 Dousing the fire.
How do I shut it off?
 One ugly fish.
Hydroplane in the museum. He had to sit on his knees, no seat.

These boats were made here in Solomons Island

You might remember an episode of I love Lucy
when they were in the Keys and went out in a boat. It was one of these boats.

What a nice event. We met a lot of people and had had a great time. Looking forward to doing a raft up with many of  them over the 4th.

Deale to Solomons Islands for the Hunter Sailing Association Rendezvous

This was fast, but we saw more than this on our way to Solomon Islands. I saw 8.4 knots which is 9.333 mph. I was a little busy at the time to take a pic.
Years ago we were told that we had no natural gas and we actually imported it.  Now we have found all kinds of it and they are remaking this terminal to sell natural gas to the rest of the world.
If you get close to this terminal they will come out and get you. The boat next to us was pretty close.
I am surprised they did not come out and stop this boat.
Light house along the way to Solomons Islands. It was a trip of 38 nautical miles or about 44 regular miles and did it in five and half hours. We were flying.
You can see the lighthouse in the background
 Cool pic of the lighthouse.
